Regional Preview

Being a huge college basketball fan, I had already planned to be glued to my seat for the selection show. However, I had particular interest in teh East Region, as I hold two tickets for the games at the Meadowlands. Wow, was I surprised to find the East bracket absolutely loaded! The committee certainly did UNC absolutely no favors.

This UNC team reminds me of the one from 2005, except that their players are younger. Tywon Lawson is like Raymond Felton reincarnated, possibly even more gifted. Brandan Wright and Wayne Ellington can certainly compare with May and McCants. Of course, they have shown that they can be beaten. Marquette should not be an eight seed and could give UNC a game in the second round. The first game that I should see could be UNC vs. Texas. (KEVIN DURANT!!)

Another team that won a major conference tournament, Georgetown, is also in the East. They received probably the weakest of the 3 seeds, Washington St., to probably matchup with. All things told, I could not be happier with the East bracket, although I'm sure Roy Williams and JTIII would disagree with me.
